Questions About Dubai Travel Los Angeles

Sandra asks…

What is the best way to approach travelling the world?

Basically, I am looking into flights and a great price is one to go from London and then Dubai, Auckland, Los Angeles, New York.

I would love to do this over as long period as possible. 6-10 months would be great. (Not sure how long the tickets are valid for)

As you can see I'm not the best but I need help knowing the cheapest way to go about this. I am willing to work occaisonaly but ideally as little as possible.

Thanks for your help in advance :)

admin answers:

Find a company that specialises in air tickets. Decide if you have to have fixed dates for travel or open tickets. 'the great endeavour' is a travel company where you could start, but keep googling to find comparisons. I got round the world foe 7 pence a mile. If you can add some more countries, you seem to have left a lot of cheap destinations of your list.

I'll try to answer all I can in the order of places I think are best:

#1) Japan: Anywhere in Japan is very safe. I walked around everywhere as a 14 year old with my little sister.

#2) Philippines: Manila is pretty safe, if you're intimidated by lots of street vendors maybe go with a friend. No one will hurt you though. I live near there. Oh- and to add to your list, there's this place in the Philippines called Boracay. It's a beautiful island, much like a really cheap Hawaii. Haha

#3) New York: I've walked around New York City (the Manhattans) before, it's sort of safe. I say "sort of" because during day with lots of people, it's pretty safe. I traveled a lot during the day to Times Square and it went fine. I suggest to not walk around at night by yourself, it's very scary. There's lots of intimidating people.

#4) I never walked around Hong Kong by myself, but I never thought anything was scary. Even at night, it's very bright and there's lots of taxis everywhere.

#5) I haven't been to Mexico before but from what I've heard that goes on there with the bad police and such, I suggest you don't go there alone. At all.

#6) California: Los Angeles and San Francisco are gang infested places. There's a lot to do in those areas but I suggest you don't go there alone, despite having a lot of people there.

But the important thing is to have some native or someone who knows the country or place well wherever you go. Especially if it's in a foreign language and there's not many English translations. It especially makes it difficult to order food. Haha

I imagine in ten years time these places would be pretty much the same. Maybe more transportation and in high-tech places like Japan may have even faster bullet trains and cooler gadgets and such.

Have fun traveling! Hope I helped!

2. Dubai - have never been to the UAE; would only like to spend 2-3 days, but believe it would be fun to see

3. Paris - by far the most glamorous of the ones listed; more to see and do

Question about Connecting Flights with Different Airlines Baggage Policy....?

I am traveling from Karachi(Pakistan) to Los Angeles(USA) in Economy Class (and I will recieve my luggage in USA), but i have Two Stops and Three Different Airlines: Karachi to Dubai with Malaysia Airlines, Dubai to London with Virgin Atlantic, and London to Los Angeles with Air New Zealand. The question is how many bags should i make and how much should each weigh because every airline has different rules and policies about baggage weighing. I am really confused. Please give me all the details if possible. Thanx a lot.

admin answers:

It is best to always go with the airline that has the STRICTEST regulations. Whichever airline allows you the least number of bags at the least weight is the one to go with.

Nancy asks…

Found a kitten, want to go travelling and take him..?

A few days ago i found a baby kitten (1-2 weeks old) walking along the side of the road, pretty much dying. i took him to a vet and he said he was perfectly healthy and that his mother probably abandoned him, so he gave me some cats milk and sent me home. He's been drinking the milk and everything, but i'm traveling to Paris for 4 days, (i leave on the 11th) and then i'm going to Los Angeles for a couple of months, i don't want to leave him, i want to take him with me.
I would like to know the step-by-step way of getting him a passport, is it possible at such a young age? Will they keep him quarentined in france or LA?? because i don't want to leave him alone, he's just a baby. What vaccines do i have to get? and do i need to buy him a ticket? will they let him on the plane WITH me if it's first class? It's Emirates from Dubai to France and then Air France from France to LA

admin answers:

First of all, they don't issue passports to cats. Secondly, there is a very good possibility that the cat would be quarantined somewhere along the way, and cats are notoriously poor travelers.
Have someone take care of your pet until you get back.
