Questions About Dubai Travel News

Nancy asks…

is dubai a arms paradise is it safe to travel through dubai?

heard news that dubai plane detained by india for smuggling armery and ammunition is it safe to transit through dubai pls help is it a terrist state/ funding terrist is there dress code any oter restrictions apply

admin answers:

Dubai, in fact the whole of the U.A.E. Is one of the safest places on the earth.

You're talking about the UAE military aircraft that was detained in India because they had not declared the arms on board. That had nothing to do with smuggling, I believe. That issue is therefore totally irrelevant to the security of the UAE.

Dress code in the UAE, most clothes are acceptable unless they are vulgar. Obviously no bikinis or supershort shorts on public roads. No outward obvious affectionate behaviour in public.. Ie no hand-holding, no kissing, hugging etc.

Respect yourself and everyone will respect you.

Daniel asks…

Is it safe for romanians to travel to Rome Italy?

Hi everyone,

I am 24 year old romanian that lives in Dubai and planned a holiday to Italy in march; however i understand from news sites that there is a "war" between Romanians and Italians and that i could be attacked if it is found that i am actually romanian. My boyfriend and i are really keen to visit Rome and Firenze and Volterra , but are now fearing not be be jumped by the italian masked gang... what do you think? is it really that bad??? should i cancel my travel?
Thank you all for being so helpful, with your comments and suggestions. Honestly i was really concerned when I’ve decided to post this question on the web, but not anymore. I pretty much lived all my life outside Romania and don't really know what to expect when i categorize myself as a Romanian, I traveled Europe and never had problems, experiencing racism and all; however never been to Italy so didn’t know how is it there... i am really looking forward to my holiday now. Thank you so much once again!!!!!!

admin answers:

There are many Romanians in Rome and unfortunately not all of them behave so good. I'm afraid that Romanian medias manipulated the situation, simply spreading the news "Italians are racist" though the problems that some Romanians create are real. But it doesn't concern you nor other tourists.
If you behave as a civilizated person everybody will be kind and helpful and nobody will "categorize" you. Like everyone and everywhere.

Chris asks…

What could possibly be more perfect?

My fellow Americans it is with great sadness that I stand before you today to announce the Sale of the State of California to Dubai. I know that many of you, especially those of you living in California, will be disheartened by this news. Tough times require tough measures and the burden of carrying California’s negative equity position on the books was simply too great. The bottom line is we could no longer afford California.

The good news is that with the cash we will be receiving from the sale of California and the removal of the negative equity position we will be able to purchase Mexico outright and finance a long term positive equity position (a loan) to purchase Canada (except for certain parts of Quebec which nobody wanted anyway). Mexico it was felt has a long term potential for future capital growth enhancing the overall equity position, abundant natural resources (OIL) and a cheap supply of now legal labor. The funds allocated to construct the “wall” between Mexico and the US will be used to construct a “green barrier” between “New Dubai” (California) and bordering states. In addition to the “wall” Crocodiles will be introduced into the Colorado River System to prevent illegal immigration from New Dubai (California) into the US. US oil companies will retain their off shore oil leases off California and the Department of Defense will retain their defense installations and provide security in a new agreement with the Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (aka Sheikh Mohammed). The detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (pronounced Kooba) will be relocated to new facilities at Universal Studios. A 150 mile “free trade zone” will extend bilaterally between the US and New Dubai. Standard travel rules and restrictions will apply (passport and not currently on the Terrorist Watch List, TWL).

The Canadian republic will be restored and the current provinces will keep their current boundaries except the names will be changed so that mid-western Americans can pronounce them (not that they care).

All in all we feel these changes are for the best. Thank you my fellow Americans.

I don't hate California, did I mention anything about political differences?
California's book value has lost almost 25% in the last two years alone. The have an inefficient government that has the largest deficit spending of any state. The Feds will likely have to bail them out.

Sharia Law strikes again?

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2799483/Dubai-waiter-rapes-British-girl-then-SHE-and-fiance-are-held-for-illegal-sex.html

You should know the laws of where you are traveling, but this is insane. There is a reason I'm not just non-religious, but anti-religion.

admin answers:

It seems to me that sharia law actually encourages rape since men are almost never held accountable, but a woman who reports she was raped might be charged with a crime and be imprisoned, whipped, or even stoned to death.

What a sick, perverted system sharia law is.

Questions About Dubai Travel Visa Cost

Sandy asks…

How could one verify the authenticity of a DUBAI WORKING VISA and which organizations could help in verifying?

If the visa issued to a Filipino prior to receiving the plain ticket states VALIDITY: 2 MONTHS and the WORK POSITION/ DESIGNATION on this supposed visa states differently from the actual position offered by the employer, could this be bogus even if the applicant was interviewed in person by the foreign principal? Shouldn't the visa have at least 3years validity? I've read in one travel guide book that some applicants who had employers were issued a 2-month visit visa WHILE the resident/working visa is underway as this process is very tedious and takes a long time. Is this true? The recruitment agency justifies the irregularity in the POSITION because some employers opt to declare a position that would cost them lesser fee in processing the visa but would still honor the agreed position during the job offer to applicant. Is this true?

admin answers:

Employment Visa or work visa shall be issued by the Immigration Department for a foreign national in order to work in a company in Dubai after the approval from Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Employment permit/visa allows the holder to enter UAE once for a period of 30 days and are valid for a period of 2 months. When the employee entered the country on the basis of the employment visa the sponsoring company should arrange to complete the formalities of his residence stamping. It is the preliminary stage to arrange for the health card and medical fitness examination for the employee from a government health center. The employee must undergo for a medical test and obtain a medical certificate. Once the medical certificate is issued by the health department an application for Labour Card should be submitted to the Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs within 30 days of the employees entry into the country. The next step is to submit the application to Immigration Department for stamping the residency on employee's passport. All the above formalities should be completed within 60 days of the arrival of the employee in UAE.

Normally the authentication is not necessary for Dubai visas. You will get only the copy and the original visa will be submitted to the airport before arrival. If you still need to verify, then contact the UAE embassy or consulate in your present country of residence; hope they will help you.

All the best.

Chris asks…

Is an Australia / Dubai visa needed?

If I am to travel to Australia from the UK as a UK citizen, will I need a visa? Does it have a cost? And if the scheduled stop is in Dubai, do I need a separate visa for that?

admin answers:

For Australia - ETAs are no longer available to UK citizens. They must now get an eVisitor visa for which there is no charge. Apply online at:
http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist/evisitor/

For Dubai - Citizens of the UK (with right of abode in the UK) will be granted a free of charge visit visa on arrival in the UAE: Passports will be stamped with the visit visa as you pass through Immigration at any airport in the UAE. Although the visa may be stamped for 30 days, it entitles the holder to stay in the country for 60 days and may be renewed once for an additional period of 30 days for a fee of Dh500.

Linda asks…

What does a flight to dubai costs?

I want to travel from Egypt to Dubai im 18yrs old with my brother 16 yrs old i need to know what the flight will cost and will i need a visa or not?(departure only)

admin answers:

I don't understand your question. What's your purpose to come to the UAE? As tourists you need to obtain tourist visas through a travel agency or a hotel. Round trip ticket needed.

In case you want to visit a family member living here, he/she has to apply for a visit visa on your behalf. Round trip ticket needed.

Why only one way? Do you plan to stay here? If yes, I don't understand why you asking for a visa. In this case your sponsor should take care of necessary steps and apply for the proper entry permit to obtain a residence visa.

Cheapest price for an adult and a 16 years old is USD 453,00 total.

You might find any cheaper flights by searching online.

Hi..dubai visa ?? i will be going for about 14 days?

Hi..dubai visa ?? i will be going for about 14 days?
hi..i want to go to dubai for 14 days...to be precise ( ras al khaimah)...so i need to know how can i get the visa for the same...and how much will it cost..?
a friend of mine is there...and the purpose is just travel..or visiting a friend...
plz let me know...i am from india..

admin answers:

The best and fastest way for you to have it is ask your friend in RAK to do the following ASAP:

1. Scan and you send a copy of your passport by email and a separate passport photo of yours to your friend.
2. Have them printed and ready.
3. Ask your friend to go to a travel agency and have yourself book by her along with a visit visa cost. Your friend will act as an sponsor on your behalf.
4. The travel agency will then require your passport copy and a photo for visa application and the e-ticket shall then be issued for you.
5. The e-ticket will then be sent to you by email and it's available in the airport of your departure.
6. The visit visa original copy has to be sent to you by courier so you can have it ready the moment you arrived in the UAE via Dubai or Sharjah or RAK Airport. (RAK Airways has now a flight direct to Bangalore)

The approximate cost of the above is about Dhs. 2500 - 3000 including Visit Visa and a return ticket to Mumbai or Delhi.

Good luck !!!

Questions About Dubai Travel Deals

Mary asks…

Is dubai expensive when it comes to hotels, dining and travelling?

Im going to Dubai between christmas and the first week of January 2010. What are the costs there ? hotels, taxis, restaurants, clubs ect..? Can you give me advice on ghow to book the best deals ? all these hotel and vacation websites are too confusing. Thanks

admin answers:

Where do u come from originally? In terms of this, dubai is definitely very expensive. Regarding hotels for stay- you can find a whole load of these, if u want a safe + hasselfree stay pick hotels in Bur Dubai (not DEIRA), and u should always opt for at least 3 star. 4-5 stars are darn expensive. You would be able to google this "dubai hotels". Taxis are also expensive - starts at 5-7 dirhams and goes up, the traffic during regular working hours is as bad as L.A. So you might wanna watch the meter (as a tourist a bus transport is confusing and u would wind up standing in the heat for too long), additionally dubai just opened the world's best METRO SYSTEM yesterday 09-09-09, again u have to purchase a transport card called NOL card from a big hypermarket (CARREFOUR- great shopping esp. Discounts on Food), you would easily find a Pizza Hut, KFC, Mc Donald's closeby here and you could go for up-class retaurants but that would cost around 50-80 dirhams (1 USD= 3.65 DHS). The best nightclub would be 360 (Jumeirah Beach Hotel) and CHI at the Lodge (near AL NASR CINEMA Bur Dubai)- these are regulars! Just Google it all, as simple as this. Have a pleasant stay!!

Donna asks…

what air ticket deal is best for Heathrow-Cairo-Dubai-Tehran-Heathrow?

I have to go to Tehran but I have to stay in Hurghada for 5 days and then go to Tehran for 5 days but I thought it would be nice to see Dubai for a day. Which airline does stopovers in these destinations or should I buy the tickets individually. I plan to travel this month

admin answers:

Airline tickets change by the minute like foreign currencies.

You are best to speak to 1 or 2 travel agents in your area.

Betty asks…

DUBAI - super excited!?

Ok guys,
I am kinda making plans to travel back to my country, Tajikistan, through Dubai. NYC-Dubai-Dushanbe.
I have been to Dubai once, but only for 8 hours in the airport, and I just loved it in there. The city looked so pretty from the airplane. So I decided to try seeing the city for a few days, 2- 3 maximum.
Please, please, share everything you know with me. How did u make ur travel to Dubai? Where did u go? How it works? I would like to be somewhere closer to Dubai Mall, burj al arab and Burj Dubai... Those are the main things I wanna see for sure. Of course, as I am a student I am on a small budget... So if you know any deals, or how much taxis cost? anything...I've heard food isn't that expensive. Oki doki. I am so excited to hear from you all.
I am travelling in early June 2011. I will also have a back ticket in August, but I think it will be terribly hot!! Oh another question is, do I have to book my tickets with a 3 day gap in between now? Or do I book the ones they are offering me with only 8 hours in Dubai, and then will they assist me with chainging my ticket or delaying my flight?
So, yeah, and how much will I pay for visas? What are the prices of the hotels that they offer at Merhaba Services? people are saying they are too expensive, and I better have reservation ahead.

admin answers:

The visa laws will probably see some changes in a years time , so check on that shortly before you actually travel , like a month before. Generally speaking the temps will be in the 40 to 45 C range.
Airlines don't allow you to change bookings without a fee , so book the actual time you will be departing with in 4 days or less which is the transit visa duration. (not exactly 8 hours , and they are now loosing money because of the backed up flights canceled due to the ash clouds, so there is no guarantee the airline will assist, you have to be prepared to do it yourself & pay whatever fee asked by immigration).

Please note if instead you get a tourist/ 30 day visit visa , the immigration is very strict if you do not renew or depart the country , they will charge you 100 AED penalty plus 100AED for each additional day you overstay. Renewal is a lot cheaper & wont get you banned from receiving another visa , overstay might get you banned but not necessarily ,it depends.

Daniel asks…

I m travelling to Dubai next week, tell me frnds what can I buy from there? as a good deal..?

are mobile phone really cheap there? if yes then from where to buy?

admin answers:

Mobile Phones are extremely cheap in Dubai. You could get them in shopping centres and airports. But seriously it is very cheap you should definitely buy your phone there.

Helen asks…

Need help in planning the Dubai Tour. Staying for 1.5 Days?

Hi,

We (my wife and I) are currently based out of Los Angeles and will be travelling to India via Dubai on 26th November. We have taken a stopover at Dubai for 1.5 days and want to tour Dubai city and probably take a few tours.

We are reaching Dubai on 27th November at 1:30 PM and our onwards flight from Dubai to India is on 29th November at 4:40 AM.

So we have approx 1.5 days which we want to utilize in the most efficient way and want to visit Dubai.

We have already applied and the Dubai Tourist Visa and we have received the same.

We would like to know.

1. Can you suggest any good travel agents whom we can contact for reasonable hotel/tour deals ?

2. Is it really worth booking the Hotel/Tour through a Travel agent OR we can do it ourselves too.

3. What are the tours that you would suggest considering we are reaching Dubai on 27th November: 1:30 PM and leaving Dubai on 29th November: 4:40 AM.

4. What are the places in Dubai which I can visit on on own (not taking any tours) ?

5. What are the must see places in Dubai which we should plan to visit in our 1.5 days stay.

6. Any additional information/suggestions/precautions that you would like to suggest.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards.

Vishal

admin answers:

Hmm... I'm not sure there's any official tours of Dubai, but perhaps someone else knows better on that. Dubai itself is mostly for shopping and clubbing. The best malls I've been too there are Dubai Mall (which has a really neat aquarium & underwater zoo), The Mall of the Emirates (the largest in UAE and has the skii Dubai located inside), and Wafi Mall (which is shaped like a pyramid). There's plenty more malls to explore there though.

There's also the gold souk in Deira, which is obviously a good place to browse and buy gold if you want. I believe there's also an open market in Bur Dubai, but I'm not sure of the days/hours.

Over in Jumeirah, there's the beach, which isn't really all that impressive, but it's there. The Burj Al Arab hotel tower is also there, which offers a nice view if you go up to the top, and is a nice building to photograph, with it's rather sailboat like shape.

Also, in downtown Dubai, the Burj Khalia is there, which is the tallest building in the world, and will also offer nice views and photograph opportunities.

Clubs are everywhere if you and your wife are interested in that. I stay away from that in Dubai though because it's just too overpriced there and you can find the same stuff in the states.

The best, and most cost effective way to get around in Dubai is to use the metro. It's pretty simple to navigate and costs less than taking a taxi everywhere. I rented a car there once and wouldn't do it again because the roads are CONSTANTLY changing in Dubai, rendering a GPS nearly useless and since I only go on business a few times a year, it's just not worth the hassle to rent a car.

How much does it cost to travel from Dubai to China ?

^______________________________________^

admin answers:

It depends on your travel date, plane tickets from about US$ 450 (return) to Guangzhou, and there are direct flights from Dubai-Guangzhou, Dubai-Beijing and Dubai-Shanghai, also Dubai-Hong Kong, BTW flying to HK is much cheaper than the other 3 cities in mainland China.

Linda asks…

How much it cost to travel to abu dhabi from dubai? By bus or train. Any cheaper mode.?

admin answers:

As Bren stated already, no trains in the UAE yet. But time went by since Bren left, and there is a bus service now from Abu Dhabi to Dubai which also Westerners use if not to picky.

The first bus departs from the Abu Dhabi main bus terminal on the corner of Hazza bin Zayed the First (11th) St and East (4th) Rd at 06:30 and the last leaves at 21:30; they leave at 45 minute intervals. From Dubai, the buses leave from 06:00, and run until 21;00, from the Al Ghubaibah station. The cost per person is Dh20 one way.

Ask your sponsor because that whom you need first. You will not be able to start any business without a sponsor and he/she want to get his/her share for sponsoring you.

What kind of answer do you expect? Your costs will depend on the location, on the brands you'll sell, etc. Etc. Etc. Just to name a few.

Questions About Dubai Travel Jordan

Susan asks…

I have an upcoming trip to dubai/Israel/jordan this month, is it safe to travel amidst the Libya's war?

admin answers:

Dubai and Israel are safe and no political unrest to expect. Jordan? Jordan can be peacefull today and full of demonstrators tomorrow. If not really necessary I would Jordan deny at the moment.

You have to travel Dubai - Jordan - Israel and return: Israel - Jordan - your home country. Please note that flights from Dubai to Israel are not available and entry to Dubai with an Israeli stamp in your passport will be denied. You can avoid this situation only if you don't have to apply for an Israeli visa in advance.

Sandy asks…

Linda asks…

israel travel via dubai?

is it possible to travel to israel and jordan transitting through dubai will the immigration bar a stamp of israel heard that travel to israel will lead to deny of dubai visa

admin answers:

If you travel to Israel via Dubai you only have to take care of a Dubai visa in case it's applicable.

In case you want to visit the UAE after being in Israel, request an extra entry permit into Israel (entry form AL - 17) when entering Israel, which will not be stamped in your passport. With an Israeli stamp in your passport, your entry to Dubai will be denied.

To get an AL -17 is only possible for nationalities who can obtain an Israeli visa up on arival.

Steven asks…

what is the explanation for this kind of behavior ?

hey
i have a problem and i wonder if u can help me in

what is the mean of talking to someone 24hr 7days a week all the time he find anyway to serve net so talk to me ,,, he told me everything , even the stuff about his personality and most of the time no body know even his mom or dad .

if he travel to Dubai or Jordan the only person he talk to me ,, he hates see me sad he keep make me smile sometimes he care about me other time no ,, he keep saying i like to see u i like to talk to u ,,
is it love ?? or just kind of nth
i feel he love me so i am but just i wanna be sure !

admin answers:

It sounds like he may be married or have a gf already. He hasn't committed to you and after all this contact with him, you're having to ask if he loves you. There is something about him that you doubt. Keep in mind that all these secret things he's told you may not be the truth anyway. I would spend more time with people who my friends know. That way you can be sure of what their motives are or if they're telling you the truth. Good luck!! : /

Questions About Dubai Travel Visa Agencies

Joseph asks…

Anyone know where to get a visa for a Turkish National visiting UAE (we need fast track)?

I know that you can get them via travel agencies in Dubai etc, but I can't find one that will do it (without buying a ticket as we already have one!). The friend we are staying with cannot get one for us as she is female (and apparently that doesn't count!)

Visa to Russia with invitation letter. How to process in Dubai?

I am filipino working in Dubai wants to visit Moscow, Russia. MY russian friend invites me to visit Moscow next year. He will just send me an invitation letter then ill be the one to process the visa in Russia Embassy in Dubai. I just want to know what are the steps of visa processing with invitation letter? I think the processing is diffferent if u have travel agency or Hotels in there... Pls guide me... I want to know also what are the pros and cons of visiting Moscow especially that im a stranger of that place though i have russian friend there who will sponsor me. Do the immigration officer asks how much money i have in the bank? Please help me... Are locals very nice to foreign people?

admin answers:

Required docs:
Your original passport with at least 2 blank visa-designated pages (passport must be valid for at least 6 months after intended departure date from Russia).
Two copies of Russian visa application form, completed and signed.
ONE passport-size photo signed on the back.
Visa entitlement certificate (IZVESHENIYE) from the local OVIR in Russia. Your host must obtain this certificate for you and send the original certificate to you. Your host will need to know:
Your Full Name;
Address;
Nationality;
Passport Number and Date of Birth;
Your Date of Arrival/Departure in Russia.
(The cost of OVIR application is about USD35. Allow 4-6 weeks for OVIR's approval).

It's always a pro to visit a foreign country and to learn about a different culture. Con may only be that you will freeze depending on the time you want to visit Russia. I don't think that the Immigration officer will ask anything about your financial situation because the invitation letter has to contain that your friennd will take of all costs regarding you which may appear.

I don't know how Russians act in Russia forwards foreigners, but you have Russian friends, I have Russian friends - what should go wrong? As a Philippina you are a stranger in Dubai also, right?

Take care end enjoy your trip.

Visit visa?

One of my friends had come on his uncles visit visa few months back to Dubai in search of a job.

He joined a travel agency, were he worked for 2 month.

Since his visit visa got over he had to come back again on a companies visit visa, which he did

Sid by side this same travel agency were apply for his visa and the papers were approved in the labour department

Later on my friend decided that he did not want to continue in working in that company, so he had a meeting with the manger and the manager told him that if my friend goes without informing than he would put a false complain against him in the immigration and that he would be caught at the airport if he enters Dubai.

My friend got a bit scared and left the next day without informing them

Now I want to know if my friend can come back do Dubai or does he have any problem if he enters Dubai

Your friend has nothing to worry about. The old manger was doing something illegal by emplying your firend on a visit visa. So he cannot complain about anything

Additionally if I have distant relatives (no name relations) can they apply for a visit visa for me as well?

Thanks

I havent entered my marital status in my passport will that pose a problem for the issue of resi visa in dubai

I was advised that i keep wth me the copy of my marriage cert duly attested by the foreign affairs in dubai and the passport copy of my husband.. when i travel to dubai. what do i do nw that i hve sent the marriage cert to my husband already..?

admin answers:

Yes, you may have a big problem. I don't quite understand the situation - is he in Dubai, while you are somewhere else at present? If you have time, you should get another copy of your marriage certificate, and if possible get your passport updated.

However, if you are able to get into Dubai on a visitor's visa, you may be able to sort the problem out when you are with your husband again.

admin answers:

Sandra asks…

Understanding his behavior, men answering appreciated.?

I have known this man for nearly a year, have seen him twice in this time, when I want to see him he tells me he is too busy (and its true, he is hardly ever in Sydney and is always traveling to NYC, London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai for business, sometimes when we make plans to meet up, he has to unexpectedly fly overseas or interstate without notice from his work, so hence we dont get to meet up).

Anyway, I have decided to end the relationship between us, but when ever I do this, he tells me no, and that we will see each other again when he is back and that he wants to see me again.

Why does he not want to see me, but then when I end it, or try too, then he gives me attention.

He is a VERY handsome man, Tall Dark Handsome, Rich, successful, doesn't have a problem with getting any girl he wants, he can have bevy of beauties on his arms and day of the week. And as this is the case with him, so, WHY WONT HE LET ME GO???
RELATIONSHIP:

1. The condition or fact of being related; connection or association with someone.

I see my dentist twice a year, we have a relationship.

admin answers:

He's getting the milk for free - why buy the cow?

He likes what he has with you. His needs are being met. He does not want to lose this. He gets the thrills, presumably the sex, and gets to put you back when he's done with you. You are disposable to him. Like a car. When you want it to go, you turn it on, and you use it. Then turn it off. It waits to be used again.

Imagine a car that was free! But you have to send it a reassuring email from time to time. That's you!

If your needs are not being met in this relationship, and you want someone who spends his time with you when he's available (not just when he wants to) or does not travel so much, then let him go.

If he can have a bevy of beauties on his arms, why does he want you? Because you are available, and you do what he wants, when he wants. Otherwise he's tire of you. He won't let you go because he's getting what he wants, and you have proven to not need as much reassuring and effort as the other girls.

You seem unsatisfied with this guy, because you expect (or need) more time and attention. Find someone with time and attention to give.

Thomas asks…

Living all over the world in a lifetime?

I'm in lower sixth (UK) and I am in the process of finalising my career path. Now I know what I'm about to say sound over the top and it IS unrealistic but I want to live in all these cities:
London, Bonn, Dubai, San Francisco, Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong.
One again I will admit this is totally unrealistic and I will never live in all those cities but I have a few questions...
(Some cities I have been to, some cities I haven't.)
1. What would be the best, well-paying job that would help me locate to a few of these cities in my life time? (I understand sponsorship is going to be crucial.)
2. Did anyone else feel like this as a young person and would just advise traveling (while young) and/or visiting one different city in a vacation every different year (when in work)? (Talk me out of it basically!)
3. Has anyone or anyone you know lived life all over the world?

By the way I'm not out to live life as some guy who just gets on a plane and just heads to a far off land and works in different unskilled jobs around the city movie style!

Definitely planning on going to uni by the way!

admin answers:

You might consider becoming an airline pilot, flying all over the world. You can have lay-overs at any of those places, I suppose, or you can make one city your base for a while, then get a condo in another city for a while, and keep moving around with your job.

My beloved has an occupation which is in demand in all parts of the country, and we have lived a number of places, in a number of states. It has been an interesting life. It wouldn't meet your desire to be "global" in your travels, but it has been a great way to see America. Something similar could be just the thing you're seeking.

Questions About Dubai Travel Visa Application

Joseph asks…

Multiple entry Schengen visa application for the first time.?

I am planning travelling to europe next year on series of weekend breaks (3 to 4 days). I intend visiting 10 to 12 cities over the year.

I am have a Pakistani passport with UK settlement visa. My wife is my dependent. We have traveled to Dubai and Saudi Arabia and visited majority of tourist places in the UK in last two years.

I a qualified accountant have a permanent full time employment in the UK and have been with my employer for last five years.

The reason I have provided all these details is because i have read that its difficult to get multiple entry Schengen visa. Applying for visa for each trip will be expensive.

I intent visiting Barcelona in January for 3 days followed by Paris, Algrave, Garanada and so on...

Should i go for multiple visa straight away and explain the above via a cover letter or apply for single entry visa and then go for multiple?

Also, if i make bookings, travel arrangements for first 3 trips, would that help multiple visa case?

Thank you in advance for anyone in the community for help.
Thanks for the detailed response. I will then apply for a double entry visa (that will cover the first trip to Barcelona in January and second one to Paris in February. Will include flight and accommodation details for both trips) and then apply for multiple showing itinerary, travel and accommodation details for further 2 cities. Thanks

admin answers:

Under the following circumstances a multiple-entry visa shall be issued:
An applicant having proved his integrity and reliability, in particular the lawful use of previous uniform visas or visas with limited territorial validity, his economic situation in the country of origin and his genuine intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa applied for and who proves the need or justifies the intention to travel frequently and/or regularly, in particular due to his occupational or family status:
• business persons
• seafarers: it should be noted that for this particular category of persons, "unforeseeable and imperative" reasons are relatively frequent because of unforeseeable changes (due to for instance weather conditions) of schedules of the ship on which the seafarer is to embark, re-embark on or disembark from, and therefore the issue of visas with a validity of 1 year provided that the seafarer in question holds a corresponding work contract allowing for multiple entries for the purpose of transit would not only facilitate the travel for the seafarers concerned but also contribute to reduce the need for issuing visas to seafarers in transit at the borders.
• civil servants engaged in regular official contacts with Member States and European Union institutions;
• representatives of civil society organisations travelling for the purpose of educational training, seminars and conferences;
• family members of citizens of the Union, and family members of third-country nationals legally residing in Member States.
Other categories of persons could be eligible for being granted a multiple entry visa with a long validity, provided that the criteria in relation to integrity and reliability together with the proof of need of frequent or regular travel as indicated above are fulfilled:
• researchers travelling to the Member States for the purpose of carrying out scientific research;
• athletes following regular training or competitions in (a) Member State(s);
• artists regularly performing in the Member States, without affecting the possible need to also obtain a work permit to that end;
• members of the professions;
• professional drivers of lorries , buses and coaches working in international transport;
• persons possessing real estate property in the territory of a Member State.
Legal basis: EU Visa Code Article 24.

You should built up a travel history in Schengen countries before you try to get a six months valid multiple entry visa. Apply for at least two single entry visa.

Edit:
Apply for a single entry visa for Spain; after return apply for a single entry visa for France; for the next trip apply for a multiple entry visa and state in a cover letter that you plan to visit on several occasions on the weekends..

Michael asks…

i want to know if it is possible for me to apply for a u.s. visa if i am on a visit visa at Dubai, u.a.e.?

i might be travelling to Dubai on december since i am holding a visitor's visa for a two months stay i want to visit the United States of America i just want to know it it is possible to acquire a tourist visa if i am going to file my application at U.A.E. during my stay

admin answers:

There is no restrictions on applying for a US visa, outside of your normal country of residence.

The documentation requirements will still remain as same, often with the additional condition of showing confirmed plans of your trip to the States, e.g. Air ticket, hotel accommodation, etc.

Please forget the notion that it will be easier to apply from another country that your normal one, as all processing depends on your nationality and documentation.

Well if you have a schengen visa then you have a schengen visa lol

Misspelling of names and what you wrote about putting your father's names in reverse order is not an issue as long as the names are there and your first name is in the right place. Your visa will need to be re-issued only if the passport number or date of birth are wrong.

I used to be a beautiful beach, but now the dirty, noisy endlessly, many jet ski up and down. "Splashes" of the sand dune buggy cars will add to the discomfort, not to mention if you're not careful, we can "fall" of people who are parasailing. The choice is yours, go through this unpleasant or bask in comfort in some of the beaches of Phuket that not many people know.

Although the distance is only five minutes drive from Patong, tourists and Thai people have not heard much about this beach. Tri Trang beach can be reached by renting a motorcycle or ride up into the hills at the southern end of Patong beach. Do not escape notice small signs to Tri Trang. Finally the long winding street to the beach Paradise. When taking a third of the way, stop and see along the right side of the road. There are beautiful beaches of sand added to the ranks of palm trees. Almost no noise of the people. Stop by for a cup of coffee or a glass of pina colada in a few bars that exist.
