What foreigners think about Dubai, and is Dubai is in their list of traveling? And why??

My question is very open but I want to know the answer, because I am Local from Dubai,

I live in Abu Dhabi and have guests very often who of course also visit Dubai.

Regarding what foreigners think about Dubai, my experience is the following:

Americans and Europeans who visited many other countries, like to see Dubai's landmarks. Most of them say that Dubai is a very impressiv city and it is great what got accomplished in within 50 years. But - most of them also say, that after they have seen Dubai, they do not have to come back for the next 10 years. Dubai has it's pros and cons, but for a relaxing vacation Dubai is to hectic, has to many construction sites and everything would be so "faked". Dubai for them is interesting, but not necesserly the no. 1 destination. Americans are amazed that they do not see any "terrorists" and that the UAE is a peacefull country. For many Americans the Middle East means: Saudi, Israel (Palestine gets ignored), Afghanistan and Iraq.

Then you have middle income people who saved for a long time to visit the UAE and they are impressed, loved is and would come back every year if they could avoid.

Some female guests did not like that Fridays the streets are full of male workers who are off and because of them they also did not feel comfortable at public beaches.

Feedback from all my guests was positiv in general. The positive aspects were: of course Dubai's landmarks, the malls and shopping opportunities and the low crime rate.
Some people were disapointed by how many prostitutes they saw in Dubai doing their business openly because they didn't expect this in an Islamic country.

I hope I will not offend you by saying that people who can afford to travel worldwide have Dubai on their list, but not on the top. Many times the "arabic touch" was missing. Normal visitors do not have any contact to Locals. Example: If you visit Italy (or any other country), you will be served by Italians, eat original Italian food etc. The hotel staff will be Italians etc. In the UAE everything is done by foreigners, mostly Indians, Philippinas and Pakistanis.

I had this one friend who could not get over how friendly and nice the Egyptian cab drivers are. She was more than disapointed by taking a cab in Dubai. Anyway, I always have a whole lot explaining to do.

flying in Emirates, there is a stopover in Dubai this is my first time travel in international airways my daughter is 11 months old while v travel,can anybody list out the needed items such as clothing,medicines,etc,. Alone with my daughter.

MAKE SURE YOU TAKE A BOTTLE FOR THEM TO DRINK DURING THE TAKE-OFF AND LANDING OF THE PLANE. A YOUNG CHILE DOES NOT KNOW THAT IT NEEDS TO SWALLOW TO ACCOMODATE THE PRESSURE CHANGE THAT NEEDS TO OCCUR - THE BOTTLE MAKES THE CHILD SWALLOW WHICH FORCES THE INNER EAR TO MAKE THE PRESSURE CHANGE.

Where can I find a list of airports using the body scanners?

I want to travel but would like to bypass this naked body scanner. Can you tell me where I can find a list of airports using them and/or planning to put them to use? Are any of these using it: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar, Karachi, JFK-New York? Please let me know. Thank you.

Random full body scanner checks are being carried out at all New York airports, Abu Dhabi & Dubai both rejected the uses of full body scanners

if any one black listed in UAE without travel to UAE, how can he get visa?

if any one black listed in UAE (dubai) with any international travel, ho can he get the visa for UAE

This is not an uncommon issue because many Indians have common names.
Mathew Thomas, an Indian, was arrested over mistaken identity five times, that is each time he tried to leave or enter the country. Thomas was even told that he had AIDS and had to do relevant tests several times to prove to the authorities that he was being mistaken for another man with the same name.

If this is the case, you can appeal to the Undersecretary in the Ministry of Interior to solve this problem.

Your Company in Dubai can not be the reason, because the company is not applying for your visa directly. They have to apply for your tourist visa through an travel agency and a reason may be, that the travel agency which applied for the tourist visa does not fulfill the requirements regarding the new visa rules and is using the "blacklist" as a cheap excuse.

Government offices are working limited hours during the holidays and therefore processes are slowed down. Try to obtain a visa from India again and when still "blacklisted", see above.

Edit imhawda: If the asker's visa would not have been in order the last time, he would not have been able to enter the country. Meetings, topics etc are no reason to blacklist anybody. Also not driving in the UAE. Being on business trips in Dubai, I assume his hotel bills will be paid by his company and his credit card bills are getting cleared in India because he can't have an account in the UAE. Faults of his company are out of order, because DNRD even doesn't know about the company and even if, that's no reason to blacklist any employee.

im an indian national working in saudi arabia and traveling from dammam to dubai in a few days. will i get a visit visa on arrival. profession listed on my work visa/residence permit is quality checker

Do quality checkers need a degree? Doubt it but I'm not sure what was required by your company.


Anyway - degree holders can obtain a visa up on arrival - others have to apply in advance through a travel agency/hotel or Airline and have to enter the UAE through an Sea or Airport but not by road.
