I am travelling to Dubai in the month of June with my parents (i.e.we are a group of three) and would stay in Dubai for a week and would prefer the hotel to be in the center of the city. Also tell me if there are reliable bus service in Dubai for sightseeing and if not then how to go around the city and what would be a rough estimate of cost of sightseeing per person?

The best area/hotel to stay in Dubai (UAE)?

I am preparing my first trip to Dubai, and of course I would like to see everything there. Usually I stay in the historical centre of the city when I travel. However it seems to me that Dubai is a little different. Which area is the best to stay: Bur, Deira or Jimeirah? Or may be there is a better area than these?

Hi, Jumeirah is excellent if u r after sun, sea and relaxation. Good hotels in Jumeirah are Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah complex, One and Only, Meridian, Sheraton, Hilton, and if u can afford it, Burj Al Arab Hotel.

If you are after fine dining and shopping, then bur dubai is the place to stay. Try Emirates towers, Shangrila, Fairmont, Crown Plaza, Raffles. Now u can even stay in downtown Dubai in the old town.

Deira is a great place to stay if you are looking for cheaper places to stay in Dubai. There are alot of bargains from shopping to restaurants.

Personally I'd choose Jumeirah Beach hotel as my number 1 choice.

As earth rotates. So does an aeroplane cover more distance when flying Dubai to NY and less in vice versa?

As earth also rotates around its centre, so if an aeroplane just lifts up the earth and stays there with out travelling any further can reach and land its destination owing to earth rotation?

No. Because an aeroplane travels in the earth's lower atmosphere, and the atmosphere essentially moves with the earth. Plus, the atmosphere also has weather (especially wind) that influences the aeroplane's ground speed as it travels.
