Travel advice to oman from Dubai by road?

Great ride... Oman is beautifully, But definitely watch out for the camels.... Make sure you try the new Bar al Jassa resort, beautiful... Also great food at the chedi hotel... The bathrooms on the way are nasty so only stop at the KFC in Suhar( which is probably 2 hours from the boarder)... Also some of the Oman oil bathrooms are clean... If you are traveling with children invest in a portable potty... Only travel during the day... Some crazy drivers on the road be careful... Enjoy Oman...

Advice for Women Traveling to Dubai?

Hi, my mother and I will be traveling to Dubai next month and I am wondering if anyone has any advice about staying safe and avoiding any possible harassment. We are already planning on wearing lightweight longsleeve shirts and pants, so as not to be "immodest". I appreciate any bits of info. Thanks!

I live and worked in dubai before.completely safe, you can wear anything you want.Go get tanned at Jumeirah Baech, even arab wear bikini.No one will say anything,forget the stare and enjoy the stay....

FYI : If u muslim and not cover yourself, get ready to get lecture from Pakistani taxi driver.Especially when u out wearing mini skirt like me.

FYI #2 : Indian & Pakistani guy there will scared you out. So when u go to place like Old Souq - Deira, wear jeans and t shirt.You will still get the stare cos this people hunger for women...if u know what i mean.They wont do anything, but u wont feel comfortable.

Advice best routing from Dubai to Chicago?

I am planning to travel from Dubai (Middle East) to Chicago (IL, USA). Can anyone suggest what is the best routing to take. I came across 3 options:

(a) Travel Dubai-London and take another flight London-Chicago.

(b) Travel Dubai-Washington, and then domestic flight to chicago.

(c) Travel Dubai-NewYork and then domestic flight to chicago.

Could anyone suggest what is best and why? Thanks in advance.

Is 23,000AED per month sufficient for a good lifestyle in Dubai? Advice urgenly wanted.?

I have had my final offer for a job in Dubai and I have to answer today!!!
They have offered 18,000AED per month plus commission which should jump it to 23,000. Plus car, phone, insurance and flights home.

Will this be enough for a good western expat lifestyle? A little travel, a good social life and enough left over to save?

Any help greatly appreciated?

U would need to live in sharjah
and get a driving licence
with that salary u will pay arnd 6000Dhms for 2bhk flat in sharjah
then food would be 100-dhms
travel, utilities etc another 1500dhms
if u got kids then consider fees as 1200dhms per month per kid
then u r left with approx 7000-8000 dhms
thats what u save if your wife doesnt like gold jewellery!
If she does- then u will be left with nothin at the end of the month!!

(why do u want an western expat lifestyle-r u from Europe or from from the Subcontinent? If u r from Europe then 23,000Dhms is way too less an offer for you and if you are from subconti- then u dream of spending way too much)
